5 Years Of Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Not Salman Khan, Aamir Khan was first offered Kabir Khan’s blockbuster directorial
One of the most loved films of Salman Khan and Kabir Khan is Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Not only it was blockbuster, but it has been also watched a lot of times on Television as well. The film saw Salman’s adorable camaraderie with little girl Munni played by Harshaali Malhotra. Today, it completes five years since Bajrangi Bhaijaan released on the big screen. While the film went on to become one of the biggest films of Salman’s career, he wasn’t the first one who was offered the role.
It was Aamir Khan who was approached for the role of Pawan. But, he told the makers to meet Salman Khan instead. At the success press conference back in 2015, Salman confirmed that it was Aamir who suggested his name. "Yes, Aamir told me that KV Vijayendra Prasad (scriptwriter) had come to him and he sent him to me. So this is just Aamir sahab's generosity," Salman said.
It was earlier reported that Aamir Khan had certain issues with KV Vijayendra Prasad’s script. He had apparently asked for some modifications which Prasad refused to do.
While the film garnered a good response from the audience and was a huge hit, Aamir was very supportive of Salman. Salman even arranged a special screening for him who went to watch the film along with his family. He was spotted in tears after the film screening was over and was completely moved by the story.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a story revolving around Pawan, a devotee of Lord Hanuman, who ends up finding a lost girl who is speech impaired and, lost in Haryana. Pawan later learns that she is from Pakistan and sets out to reunite her with her family at great personal cost. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film starred Salman Khan, Harshaali Malhotra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
